Pinstripe Playing Cards - The Uncut Sheet

Some insights into the Pinstripes 😉

Hey Everyone, I'm back again! 😅 This time you can check out more about the Pinstripes uncut sheet and a bit about uncut sheets in general.

First of all, what is an uncut sheet?.... well the name kinda gives it away already. This is a sheet of playing cards, fully printed, that is pulled from the press before being cut into individual cards. Many times, a printing company will need to adjust the plates or alignment of the printers before starting mass production, and these uncut sheets could also be a by product from this process - a way to sample the quality of print to ensure there are no issues. The sheets are also shown to a customer by the printing company as a final proof.

Uncut sheets are an indication to the order of the cards after packaging. When you open the deck of cards you will see the card in the top left corner first. You will eventually flip through all the way to the last card - the bottom right corner. The standard order for The United States Playing Card Company is Joker 1, Joker 2, A-K♠, A-K♦, K-A♣, K-A♥, Ad Card 1, Ad Card 2.

My favorite part is the middle, where the two kings meet 😁

Uncut sheets are the ultimate collectors item. They are printed in much smaller quantities than the cut decks, and are considered a rarity. Collectors of uncut sheets are not limited to playing cards. You might have seen coin/money collectors with an uncut sheet of dollar bills from the mint. Or a sheet of baseball cards that someone snuck away hot off the press!

For me, this is where my passions of art and playing cards meet. To be able to bring a design to life, frame it, and hang it up on the wall. I can't wait to get my hands on one of these from USPCC and to sign it like a painting.

These uncut sheets are available as an Add-Ons at all reward levels of my Kickstarter project. We have just under one week left until the end! 😉

Until next time!
